Collection: Wallaba

Wallaba (Wapa) from French Guiana, Eperua falcata, is one of the most durable woods of the Amazon forest. Traditionally used to make wooden roof shingles, it is also popular for flooring. Reddish brown with darker veins, it is a very attractive wood.

However, it tends to ooze resin long after machining. A waterproof finish is needed to keep the wood from becoming sticky.
