Collection: Gabon Ebony fingerboards

All our Gabon Ebony fingerboards, for guitar or bass.

Gabon Ebony, Diospyros crassiflora, is the high-end wood used in the guitar industry.

The "blackest" grade makes up only a few percent of total production. At Bois Canon, we choose to make the most of every grade of Gabon Ebony by also offering marbled or figured wood. We cut our ebony logs ourselves, so every grade is available. We sort them into 4 grades: A, B, C and "worm". The first grades are dark and the following ones more marbled. "Worm" grade wood, at a reduced price, has a few wormholes. They need filling (sawdust + cyanoacrylate mix), and the result is almost invisible.
