Collection: Cocobolo fingerboards

Cocobolo, Dalbergia retusa, comes from Central America and Mexico. It belongs to the rosewood family. Its figure and acoustic properties are exceptional, making it one of the most sought-after woods in lutherie.

Its colour ranges from yellow to dark red, through every shade in between. The wood tends to darken over the years.

It is a fairly oily wood, so gluing requires care. Its dust is allergenic: a good-quality mask is essential.
