Collection: Tamarind

Tamarind, Tamarindus indica, is a wood native to Southeast Asia, now widely naturalised throughout the tropics.

Tamarind wood spalts easily, which gives it superb black stripes.

It is a fairly light wood and should be stabilised.

The spalting (fungi) may come with a few small insect holes.

A very decorative species, highly prized for knife handles.
