Olive, Olea europaea, is an iconic wood of the Mediterranean region.

It is traditionally used to make kitchen utensils (salad bowls, cutlery, chopping boards), as it is food safe.

It is a decorative, pleasantly scented wood that is easy to work. Its strong figure is highly sought after.

It is a very slow-growing tree, gaining about 1 mm in diameter per year. A 30 cm wide slab therefore comes from a tree over 300 years old!
