Collection: Walnut

Walnut, Juglans regia, is probably one of the most decorative French woods.

Used in cabinetmaking since time immemorial, it often shows beautiful dark veins. It is traditionally used for luxury gun stocks, or as veneer.

The walnut tree can give particularly figured wood from its burl or crotch. Walnut burl is widely used as veneer in cars and for period furniture.

It is a pleasant wood, easy to work. It sometimes shows grain undulations, and is then called curly walnut.
