Collection: Mango

Mango wood, Mangifera indica, is found in many tropical countries.

The trunks can reach large diameters and, depending on the age of the tree, sometimes have an orange coloured heart.

Young trees give a white, light wood that is pleasant to work, while older ones have a dense, hard heartwood whose scent recalls the fruit.

It is a fairly rare wood, as it is only harvested when mango plantations are renewed.

The mango wood in our shop comes from Cayenne and its surroundings, from felled or pruned garden trees.
