Collection: Bog Oak / Morta

Bog Oak, known in French as "Morta", comes from oaks that grew several thousand years ago. Having died naturally, they were gradually buried in the mud of the peat bogs of Eastern Europe.

As the wood began to fossilise, the oak tannins oxidised, giving it this beautiful silvery black colour.

The density of bog oak is similar to that of ordinary oak, around 0.75.
