Tatajuba (Bagasse), Bagassa guianensis, is a golden wood that darkens in the sun.

Pleasant and easy to work, it is very durable and resistant to moisture. It is ideal for knife handles.

It is known internationally as Tatajuba.

The wood often has a marked interlocked grain, which gives it a superb ribbon-like look. Its density is 750 kg/m³ (0.75).
