Collection: Avocado

Avocado wood comes from the tree that produces avocados, Persea americana. It is a pale wood with an orange tint, a fine grain and attractive ray fleck when quarter-sawn.

It is best used for woodturning or for small objects and jewellery.

In French Guiana it is a fairly common garden tree, as its fruit is very popular. Its wood is rare, because avocado trees are seldom felled.
