Tropical Almond

Tropical Almond (Amandier de Guyane), Terminalia catappa, is also known as Indian almond or sea almond.

This tree is widespread throughout the tropics and is emblematic of the beaches of the French West Indies, French Guiana and the Indian Ocean.

Its wood ranges from bright yellow to red, depending on the age of the tree and where it grew.

Of medium hardness, it turns easily and is ideal for pen making, carving or all kinds of decorative pieces.
