Mammee Apple (Abricotier des Antilles), Mammea americana, also called "Abricot péyi", is a fruit tree of the French West Indies and French Guiana.

Unrelated to the European apricot (Prunus armeniaca), it bears a large fruit with orange flesh.

Mammee Apple wood is dense and colourful, with shades ranging from yellow to red.

It is perfectly suited to knife handles, woodturning or carving. Its fine grain takes a very beautiful polish.
