{"title":"Indian Ebony fingerboards","description":"\u003cp\u003eAll our Indian Ebony fingerboards, the \"true ebony\", \u003cem\u003eDiospyros ebenum\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eIndian Ebony has a finer grain than its West African cousin. As with all ebonies, perfectly black wood, known as \"jet black\", makes up only a few percent of total production. It therefore often comes in more marbled, less uniform shades, so that the whole production can be put to good use.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eA particularity of Indian Ebony is that it may sometimes show small \"mineral spots\", tiny white marks. This is not a defect but a characteristic of this wood.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eAt Bois Canon we sort our Indian Ebony into 3 grades, A, B and C. Grade A is normally free of mineral marks, while B or C may have a few.
